Description

Here at Highland Park Animal Hospital, education is a large part of what we do. Getting the next generation excited about the day-to-day of general practice is one of our favorite experiences.

During your time here, you will observe appointments, treatment, surgeries, and dental procedures. We involve students as much as possible and seek motivated, curious students eager to learn about our practice and specialties.

• Furnished on-site apartment available for out-of-town extern students

Additional Details

Our 7 doctors participate actively in teaching and mentorship, offering experience in wellness, echocardiograms, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgeries, along with client communication skills.

Candidate Profile

We seek veterinary students or recent grads interested in preventive care, surgery, dentistry, and working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have strong communication skills, a passion for animal care, and be enrolled in an AVMA-accredited program with proof of liability insurance.

Externship Details

Externs will gain hands-on experience in wellness, immunizations, anesthesia, dermatology, radiology, ultrasonography, surgery, oncology, dental care, emergency, reproduction, and hospice care. We tailor externships to individual student interests and needs.
