Qualifications

• One year of veterinary practice experience preferred.
• Minimum two years’ customer service experience required.
• Computer experience (email, Word/Excel) and front desk hardware proficiency.
• Basic math skills to handle deposits and payments.
• Excellent client and team communication.
• Able to understand veterinary terminology and explain basics to clients.
• Able to work seated for most of the day.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service to pet owners in person and over the phone.
• Schedule and confirm appointments, record keeping, and provide estimates/invoices.
• Respond with compassion in stressful situations.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and orderly lobby and front office area.
• Educate clients on wellness plans, food, and products sold in the waiting room.
• Perform opening and closing procedures, end-of-day reports, and deposits.
• Data Entry: records, client questionnaires, referral information, etc.
• Distribute mail.
• Ensure referral letters and lab results go to the corresponding veterinarians.
• Admit patients: weigh them and ensure information is current.
• Opportunities to learn Veterinary Assistant skills if desired.
