Job summary

Newton Animal Hospital in Newton, MA is seeking a Veterinary Client Service Representative. This part-time role offers 20-30 hours per week, including weekends and holidays, with a focus on welcoming clients and their pets and delivering exceptional customer service.

You will handle phone, email, and in-person inquiries, manage client records, process payments, schedule appointments, and assist with light administrative duties. Veterinary hospital experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; AAS or higher preferred.
  • At least 6 months of customer service experience.
  • Veterinary hospital experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating via phone, email, and in person with clients and actively listening to their concerns.
  • Entering client/patient information into computer systems and maintaining medical records.
  • Processing client payments and invoices.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments.
  • Dispensing pharmaceuticals and calling in prescriptions.
  • Other administrative duties as needed.

Our Ideal Candidate:


An upbeat, self-starter with a passion for providing excellent customer service. Our team is focused on providing a welcoming and educational environment for clients and pets. This experience starts when the client walks through our door and speaks with our Client Service Representatives. This part-time position would require 20-30 hours per week, including some weekends and Holidays.


Job Duties:



  • Communicating via phone, email, and in person with clients and actively listening to their concerns.

  • Utilizing computer information systems to accurately enter client/patient information, update and maintain medical records.

  • Processing client payments and invoices.

  • Scheduling and confirming appointments with patients.

  • Precisely dispensing pharmaceuticals as needed and calling in prescriptions to pharmacies.

  • Other administrative duties as needed.


Job Requirements:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent, AAS or higher preferred.

  • At least 6 months of customer service experience.

  • Veterinary hospital experience is preferred, however not required.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, squatting, reach, standing, and walking throughout the day.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with a starting rate ranging from $20-25/hr. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
