Job summary

Animal Emergency Clinic of Springfield is seeking a part-time entry-level team member who will learn on the job. You will help with cleaning, feeding, bathing, and walking pets, as well as assisting with exams and post-operative care under supervision.

You’ll gain training through hands-on and virtual programs, with opportunities for full-time advancement. Expect early mornings, evenings, and weekend shifts; some tasks involve mild physical labor and exposure to odors, noises, and animal

Qualifications

• Compassionate, calm demeanor and reliable team member.
• Punctual and dependable with scheduled shifts.
• Willing to work weekends and early mornings/evenings as required.
• Ability to learn tasks quickly and follow veterinary instructions.
• Ability to perform moderately heavy physical tasks.
• Attention to accurate medication and supply records.
• Basic understanding of animal handling and restraint.
• Ability to read and follow written directions.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, laundry, bathing, feeding and walking of pets.
• Assist with restraint and examinations under supervision.
• Restock supplies and help with post-operative care.
• Document medications, foods, appetite, behavior and concerns.
• Sterilize and clean surgical instruments as trained.
