Board-certified Veterinary Cardiologist

Job description

Philadelphia Animal Specialty & Emergency (PASE) is a veterinarian-owned 24/7 Emergency and Specialty hospital located in the heart of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We are seeking a full-time or part-time, board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Cardiologist to join our collaborative team.

Our team includes: one internist, two criticalists, two neurologists, two surgeons, an anesthesiologist, oncologist, and radiologist (5-day a week ultrasound coverage), along with a 24-hour emergency department. We are committed to delivering compassionate care and practicing the highest standards of veterinary medicine for our patients and clients. We prioritize education, offering a range of in-house training for our support staff and CE lectures for our referring community.

Our facility is equipped with two surgical suites, a dedicated imaging room, Olympus scopes, CT, 1.5T MRI, ultrasound (Aplio i700) for echocardiography, digital radiology, in-house lab equipment, emergency ultrasound, and multi-parameter anesthetic monitoring equipment. We are proud of our strong reputation with referring veterinarians and foster a positive, supportive workplace culture for our dedicated team of doctors, technical staff, and management.

This is an opportunity to build and lead our Cardiology service from the ground up, working alongside a full team of experienced and passionate technicians and assistants, and in close collaboration with our Internal Medicine, Criticalist, and Surgery teams on shared cases. Our specialists work as a team, discussing difficult cases and covering each other's patients when one doctor is out of the hospital so that days off can truly be spent focusing on family and/or other life pursuits and passions! Having the ability to disconnect, rest, and recharge is an important part of our culture.

  • Provide exceptional cardiac care to patients, including diagnostic echocardiography, ECG interpretation, and management of cardiac disease.
  • Collaborate with other specialists and primary care veterinarians to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care for our patients.
  • Work closely with our nursing staff and support team to provide outstanding service and communication to our patients' families.
  • Contribute to the advancement of veterinary medicine through participation in continuing education, research, and teaching opportunities.
  • Foster an environment of respect, trust, and mutual support among all members of our healthcare team.

At PASE, we are dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in our hiring practices. We believe that a diverse and inclusive team is essential to providing exceptional care and advancing veterinary medicine.
