Job summary

IndyVet Emergency and Specialty Hospital, part of National Veterinary Associates, in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a Veterinary Cardiologist for a full-time, permanent role. You will work in a premier emergency and specialty hospital offering advanced cardiac care with access to a dedicated anesthesia team and 24/7 ER resources.

Join a collaborative team focused on mentorship, teaching, and evolving veterinary cardiology across the network.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree and eligibility for Indiana veterinary licensure.
  • Board Certification in Veterinary Cardiology or residency training in Veterinary Cardiology.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills with a focus on advanced specialty medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical and interventional cardiology care, including diagnosis and management of complex cardiac cases.
  • Perform and interpret echocardiograms, ECGs, and Holter/telemetry monitoring.
  • Participate in on-call coverage for ER echocardiograms and cath procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with overnight ER and ICU teams to support inpatient cardiac care.
  • Mentor and train on cath lab procedures across the network.

In your day to day, you will:

  • Provide medical and/or interventional cardiology care, including diagnosis and management of complex cardiac cases
  • Perform and interpret echocardiograms, thoracic radiographs, ECGs, and Holter/telemetry monitoring
  • Participate in on-call coverage for ER echocardiograms and cath procedures as needed
  • Collaborate with overnight ER and ICU teams to support inpatient cardiac care
  • Access ongoing mentorship and training opportunities, including cath lab experience across the network
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
