Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent degree with licensure eligibility in Oregon.
  • Board certification in Cardiology or residency training with intent to pursue board certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical and interventional cardiology care for a diverse referral caseload.

  • Interpret ECGs, Holter, and telemetry data for arrhythmia assessment.

SOVSC is equipped to support advanced cardiac diagnostics, including echocardiography, Holter monitoring, in-hospital telemetry, digital radiography, advanced CT imaging, and comprehensive in-house laboratory capabilities.

At SOVSC, specialists work closely with primary care veterinarians and the hospital's emergency and specialty teams to create a seamless continuum of care-from emergency stabilization and advanced diagnostics through specialty consultation and long-term management.

In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Provide comprehensive medical and/or interventional cardiology care for a diverse referral caseload
  • Diagnose and manage complex cardiac cases in collaboration with Emergency, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Surgery
  • Perform and interpret echocardiograms and utilize advanced cardiac diagnostics to develop individualized treatment plans
  • Interpret ECGs and utilize Holter and in-hospital telemetry monitoring for patients with suspected or diagnosed arrhythmias
  • Collaborate with the 24/7 Emergency and Critical Care teams on unstable cardiac patients and inpatient cardiac care
  • Provide cardiac consultation for hospitalized patients and emergency cases when clinically indicated
  • Utilize advanced imaging and diagnostic capabilities, including CT, digital radiography, in-house laboratory testing, and point‑of‑care diagnostics
  • Develop strong relationships with referring veterinarians and serve as a trusted cardiac resource for the Southern Oregon and Northern California veterinary community
  • Collaborate with specialists across the hospital and broader Ethos network on complex and multidisciplinary cases
  • Contribute to the development and growth of the cardiology service in alignment with hospital and community needs
  • Participate in continuing education and knowledge‑sharing opportunities with colleagues and referring veterinarians
  • Mentor technicians and support staff in cardiac diagnostics, monitoring, and patient care
  • Contribute to a positive, team‑focused hospital culture built on collaboration, compassion, innovation, and clinical excellence
What You Bring
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Oregon veterinary licensure
  • Board Certification in Cardiology (DACVIM - Cardiology) or residency trained in Cardiology and board eligible
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with an interest in complex cardiac cases
