About the Role
The Veterinary Assistant assists veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment, monitors hospitalized pets, maintains inventory, prepares prescriptions, performs routine laboratory work, educates clients, and assists with surgeries.
We are a four-doctor practice, open Monday-Friday 7am-6pm and Saturdays 7:30am-12pm. We perform daily surgeries, have an in-house lab, digital radiographs, ultrasound, and cold laser therapy. There is lots to do and see.

Responsibilities
- Assist in veterinary medicine and surgery, outpatient exams, and patient monitoring.
- Collect samples, perform lab tests, and prepare specimens.
- Take and develop radiographs following safety protocols.
- Handle and restrain animals during exams.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment.
- Provide compassionate service to clients and patients.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to work weekends as needed.
- Previous veterinary experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently, more with assistance.
- Follow OSHA safety procedures, including PPE use.
- Basic math skills for medication calculations.
- Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
- Strong communication skills for patient safety.

Pay Range: USD $12.00 - USD $15.00/hr
