Veterinary Assistant/Technician - Methuen Animal Shelter and Community Clinic

Position Overview

We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician to support procedures for homeless animals at our adoption center and assist with owned patients at our low-cost community clinic.

This role offers the chance to work in a clinic that reaches underserved communities in Lowell and Lawrence, caring for thousands of homeless animals annually.

Compensation

Hourly pay ranges from $20.00 to $26.00 for assistants and $24.00 to $30.00 for certified technicians, based on experience and skill level.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist staff veterinarians with procedures and treatments to ensure animal health.
  • Examine, vaccinate, and perform medical testing on incoming animals.
  • Monitor surgeries such as spays/neuters and dentals for animals awaiting adoption and clinic patients.
  • Gain exposure to diverse surgical and medical cases, providing a dynamic and rewarding work environment.
