Jonesboro Family Pet Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support exams, surgeries, dentistry, and outpatient procedures. The ideal candidate is versatile, dependable, and eager to develop a well-rounded skill set in patient care, client service, and procedures.

This full-time position offers a 4/10 schedule with availability Monday–Sunday and a compensation range of $14–$16 per hour, plus a benefits package including health, life, and retirement

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant or related role.
• Proficiency collecting patient histories, weights and vitals.
• Maintain accurate medical records and follow protocols.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to stand, lift, and restrain patients safely.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry.
• Provide safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly.
• Build positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service.
• Maintain clean, organized exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces.
