Job summary

The Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle in Lynnwood, WA, is hiring a Veterinary Assistant – Surgery for a full-time schedule (Wed–Sat, 7a–5:30p). You will support veterinarians, assist during surgeries, and help maintain smooth patient flow across the hospital.

We seek candidates with prior veterinary assistant experience, a strong patient-care mindset, and the ability to handle blood draws and histories, with preferred specialty surgery exposure. Thrive Pet Healthcare benefits apply.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and educate clients.
• Assist veterinarians and medical team to maximize productivity and patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in line with state acts for credentialed technicians.
• Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options, medications, and treatments.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records with practice systems support.
• Obtain health history from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
• Mentor and support fellow team members.

Role Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• With each hospital function,assistveterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity andmaintainpositive patient flow.
• Assistwith surgeries and proceduresin accordance withyour state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance onThrive Membershipoptions, medications, andadditionaltreatments.
• Assistinmaintainingrelevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients andmaintainmedical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements

• Previous veterinary assistant experience required

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with anhourly pay rate starting at $23 - $28 /hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
