Job description

Location: 1203 Cleveland Avenue Suite 2, East Point, GA 30344

VCA College Park Animal Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (or RVT-eligible), or Experienced Veterinary Assistant with a passion for leadership to join our team as Veterinary Technician Supervisor.

If you are curious about different ways to solve existing problems in veterinary medicine and enjoy being on the leading edge, we are the hospital for you! You will be joining a network of like-minded associates, supported by an all-star team and have access to our latest digital tools.

Our 2.5-doctor practice is AAHA-accredited and working toward Fear Free certification. We offer primary care, surgery, dentistry, digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, and more. Our small, tight-knit team ensures great communication and opportunity to learn and grow in a fun and caring environment!

Our hours are Monday through Friday 8a-6p.

Our College Park location is minutes away from everything the city of Atlanta has to offer, with a small community feel. We also serve neighboring communities of Hapeville and East Point.

About the Role

This role will allow you to take the skills and experience you’ve gained over your years in this profession and put them to great use in our hospital. This is a working supervisory position which is responsible for the leadership and development of the patient care team. Technical skills that you will be utilizing include:

  • Venipuncture
  • Catheter placement
  • Radiology
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Physical examinations and patient assessment
  • Surgical preparation and assisting
  • Dentistry
  • Laboratory work
  • Pharmacy
  • Patient recovery
  • Compassionate patient care

Supervisory duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing leadership, training and support to our patient care team
  • Supporting current department policies and procedures
  • Scheduling staff and conducting team meetings
  • Accurately handling and recording controlled drugs
  • Record keeping
  • Marketing
  • Facility maintenance
