Qualifications

• Previous experience in a veterinary hospital preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology.
• Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds or heavier.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn from veterinarians and senior staff.
• Compassionate nature and genuine love for animals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist in appointments with doctors.
• Take client histories and record observations in medical records.
• Educate clients on preventative care and follow up.
• Communicate patient or client concerns to the team.
• Perform venipuncture and in-house labs; relay results to owner.
• Provide and monitor nursing care for hospitalized patients.
• Admit and discharge patients per protocol; educate on procedures.
• Restock rooms and treatment areas; maintain cleanliness.
• Utilize practice software for medication, discharge instructions, and labels.
• Adhere to OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Conduct client callbacks and updates; perform other duties as assigned.
