Swaim Serum Co., established in the 1940s, expanded into veterinary services in the 1990s. We serve Oklahoma City and surrounding areas with a dedicated team in a newly renovated hospital with 8 exam rooms, fostering a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Role Overview

The Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians and technicians in patient care, monitors hospitalized pets, maintains inventory, prepares prescriptions, performs routine lab work, educates clients, and assists with surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Assist in veterinary medicine and surgery
• Support outpatient exams and client education
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs
• Collect samples and perform lab tests
• Take and develop radiographs
• Handle and restrain animals
• Administer medications and treatments
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of facilities and equipment
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members

Requirements

• Ability to work weekends
• Previous veterinary experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently, more with assistance
• Practice OSHA safety techniques
• Basic math and computer skills
• Fluent in Spanish (written and spoken)

Pay Range: USD $16.00 - USD $19.00/hr. The sign-on bonus of $500 is paid in two installments at 90 days and one year of employment.
