Shadow Hills Pet Clinic in Sun Valley, CA is seeking an experienced Part Time veterinary assistant to join a long‑standing general practice with a community focus. You will room patients, assist in surgery, monitor anesthesia, draw blood, place IV catheters, and perform in‑clinic lab work while delivering compassionate education to clients.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting.
• Surgical assisting experience.
• Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories.
• Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular).
• Placing IV catheters.
• Digital radiology including positioning.
• Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing).
• Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique).
• Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue.
• Excellent client communication & education; CSR duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and assist in surgery.
• Monitor anesthesia and surgical recovery.
• Perform blood draws and in-clinic lab work.
• Place IV catheters and manage venous access.
• Operate digital radiography and dental radiography equipment.
• Assist with animal handling and restraint.
• Educate clients and collaborate with the team.
