Job summary

Route 516 Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our busy team in New Jersey. You will help care for patients, prepare for exams and surgeries, administer medications, and assist with lab work, while educating pet parents and supporting credentialed staff.

  • Keeping accurate medical records and helping answer client questions
  • Prepping patients for exams and surgeries
  • Administering medications as directed
  • Assisting with lab testing (blood, fecal, urine, etc.)
  • Cleaning and sanitizing surgical tools, kennels, and exam areas
  • Monitoring post-op patients and reporting any changes
  • Safely restraining patients during exams and procedures
  • Helping educate pet parents on meds, treatments, and care
  • Partnering with Credentialed Technicians and DVMs to provide top-tier care

We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our crew and bring skill, kindness, and hustle to every exam room, surgery prep, and tail wag.

What you'll do:


  • Keeping accurate medical records and helping answer client questions

Schedule


  • Full-time, Day shift, 8-hour shifts

  • Rotating weekends

  • No holiday shifts required


Compensation

The pay range for this position is $17 - $25 per hour, based on experience, skills, and credentials. Final pay will be determined during the hiring process.
