National Veterinary Associates (NVA) seeks a friendly Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join a busy clinic. You will manage front desk duties and provide hands-on support to veterinarians and technicians to ensure compassionate care for pets and excellent service for their owners.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and compassion for animals, with responsibilities from greeting clients to assisting during exams and treatments while keeping spaces tidy and records accurate.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, medical office, or customer service environment preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Compassion for animals and their owners
• Strong organizational and computer skills
• Ability to lift and handle animals of various sizes
• Knowledge of veterinary software is a plus

About the Role

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and compassionate Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our team. This position combines front desk responsibilities with hands-on support for veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure exceptional care for our patients and excellent service for their owners.

Key Responsibilities

Reception Duties

• Greet clients and patients in a professional and welcoming manner
• Answer and direct phone calls
• Schedule appointments and manage the clinic calendar
• Process payments and maintain accurate client records
• Respond to client inquiries and provide general information
• Handle administrative tasks, filing, and correspondence

Veterinary Assistant Duties

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations and treatments
• Restrain and comfort animals safely and compassionately
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness
• Monitor hospitalized patients as directed
