Descrição da oferta de emprego

The Hospital for Veterinary Surgery is a new, purpose-built surgical center in the heart of Greenwich’s West End. Spanning 10,000+ square feet and designed from the ground up, we’re bringing cutting-edge surgical and critical care services to a region that has long needed them. This is our second HVS location, and we're building it with the same focus that made our first a destination for exceptional patient outcomes, supportive and transparent team culture, and forward-thinking medicine.

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support the daily operations of our physical therapy program. This role is ideal for an Assistant with a strong clinical foundation, a clear interest in post-operative recovery, and a desire to contribute meaningfully to a growing service. Strong patient restraint skills and elevated client and referring veterinary community communications are necessary.

You will work closely with our Rehab CCRP and board-certified surgeon to deliver individualized physical therapy plans that enhance mobility, support healing, and improve patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do:
  • Support individualized physical therapy plans for post-operative and mobility-compromised patients
  • Assist CCRP with physical therapy treatments based on the needs of each patient
  • Operate and maintain the underwater treadmill, including managing patient use and safety during sessions
  • Monitor patient progress and make clinical adjustments as needed
  • Educate clients on at-home exercises and recovery expectations
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
  • Manage therapy equipment and supplies
  • Manage cleanliness and organization of the department
What We Require:
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience
  • Strong interest in pain management, recovery, and mobility care
  • Able to work independently and take initiative in a leadership role
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
What We Offer
  • $19-$22 per hour
  • Full time hours with consistent weekday schedule 4 10s 7am-5pm.
  • No nights, no weekends, no major holidays, no on-call shifts
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Generous PTO, up to 120 hours of paid time off per year
  • Three paid CE days per year in addition to reimbursement of CE registration and travel stipend
  • Discounted pet insurance through MetLife
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Voluntary benefits through MetLife
  • An organization that supports you and provides the resources to nurture your talents and goals
Continuing Education

We believe in helping you grow. Whether you're brand new or a seasoned pro. Veterinary Assistants here are eligible to receive unlimited CE registration reimbursement for things like conferences, wet labs, and skill-building courses (plus we’ll cover up to $750 per year in related travel expenses if needed). You’ll even have the chance to bring back what you learned and share it with the team. If you're excited about learning, we're here to support it, every step of the way.

Full-time Veterinary Assistants in good standing can advance their careers through our fully sponsored Penn Foster Veterinary Technician Degree Program, one of the few AVMA-accredited online programs in the country. We pay for up to four semesters of tuition directly and support you along the way with structured check-ins and flexibility to complete required externships. After graduation, we also cover your VTNE exam and licensure fees, with no post-graduation work commitment required.
