VCA Veterinary Specialist of CT in West Hartford, CT is seeking a per diem Veterinary Assistant to join our 24/7 general, emergency and specialty hospital team.

You will collect histories, assist with exams, venipuncture, radiology, dentistry, lab work, pharmacy tasks and anesthesia monitoring while delivering compassionate patient care and client education.

Qualifications

• Assists with patient histories and exams.
• Supports a high‑quality client experience and patient care.
• Experience with routine veterinary procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient histories and assist during exams.
• Perform venipuncture and assist with radiology and dentistry.
• Support laboratory work, pharmacy tasks, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Collaborate with team across hospital services and provide compassionate care.
• Educate clients and care for general practice patients.

Job Type : Full Time weekend rotation required.

Pay Range : $19 - $23 / hr based on skill set and experience.
