Linda Mar Veterinary Hospital in Pacifica, CA is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant. Open to part or full-time applicants, Saturday availability required. Hospital utilizes digital x-ray, in-house labs, and therapeutic laser to treat cats, dogs, and pocket pets.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of veterinary experience, knowledge of anatomy, and comfort with emergencies. Strong computer skills and familiarity with EMR software are a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of veterinary experience or work with animals in some capacity.
• Knowledge of animal anatomy and handling techniques.
• Familiarity with veterinary emergencies and critical care practices a plus.
• Computer and internet proficient; prior EMR software experience a plus.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and expand skills.
• Energetic team player with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with examinations, surgeries, treatments and procedures.
• Restrain animals safely and effectively.
• Administer medications and vaccines under supervision of veterinarians or registered technicians.
• Clean, sterilize instruments and maintain aseptic technique.
• Maintain an organized working environment including kennels and rooms.
• Prepare and perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging.
• Provide compassionate, high-quality medical care to patients.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
• Communicate effectively with team members, doctors, and clients.
