Qualifications

• Weekend availability as required
• Previous veterinary experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier loads with help
• OSHA safety practices including proper PPE
• Basic math for medication dosages
• Basic computer skills, MS Office familiarity

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment
• Monitor hospitalized pets and maintain inventory
• Prepare prescriptions and perform routine in-house laboratory work
• Educate clients regarding veterinary care and procedures
• Assist with surgical procedures and anesthesia as directed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment and lab areas
• Communicate with veterinarians and team members to ensure patient safety and care
• Other duties as assigned
