Job summary

Island Trees Veterinary Hospital in Hicksville, NY is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our caring team. You’ll assist veterinarians, handle and restrain animals, and support client services while maintaining clean patient records.

Must have veterinary assistant experience, strong animal handling skills, and be available Fridays and Saturdays. Pay is up to $23.00/hour depending on experience. Benefits are available for full-time staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and patient care.
• Safely handle and restrain animals; husbandry, cleaning, laundry, providing patient care as directed by the veterinarian.
• Handling lab samples and preparing for courier pickup.
• Medical charting, maintaining accurate patient records.
• Cross train as a client service representative.
• Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
• Able to lift 50lbs without assistance.

Pay range

Up to $23.00 based on experience.
