BluePearl Pet Hospital - Veterinary Assistant (Emergency Department)

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join their fast-paced emergency department.

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 / hour
This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through our leveling system.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Triaging emergency cases as they come in and assisting DVM with crafting and reviewing estimates.
2. Performing diagnostics (radiographs, lab work, etc.), setting patients up in ICU or Inpatient ward, discharging patients, and handling client communication.
3. Providing nursing care according to hospital standards and core values.
4. Reporting patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds.
5. Understanding medication classifications, side effects, and monitoring therapeutic responses.
6. Administering medications appropriately.
7. Performing phlebotomy and physical exams, including vital signs.
8. Assisting with anesthesia and monitoring equipment for ASA I or II classified patients.
9. Remaining current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrating proficiency as assigned.
