Veterinary Assistant or Technician - Part Time

Duties

• Client communication
• Triaging patients, assessing injuries/illnesses, gathering information, and taking vital signs
• Performing diagnostic tests, including radiographs and lab work
• Assisting with surgical procedures and patient monitoring
• Taking radiographs, administering IV & IM injections
• Dispensing controlled drugs
• Placing IV catheters, maintaining feeding and urinary catheters
• Monitoring surgical procedures
• Performing lab diagnostics
• Other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to work with sick animals, hazardous materials, chemicals, gases, and odors
• Professional communication and composure in challenging situations
• High-quality customer service skills
• Effective team collaboration
• Proficiency with computers and electronics

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs throughout the day
• Stand for extended periods
• Frequent lifting, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and squatting

Experience and Education
