Job summary

Sprinkle Road Veterinary Clinic is hiring a Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join a dedicated team in Kalamazoo. The role is full-time with a Monday–Saturday schedule and a competitive compensation package based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with or willingness to learn phlebotomy, sample collection, radiography and in-house laboratory procedures
• Confidence with safe and compassionate animal handling and restraint
• Appropriate state licensure for Licensed Veterinary Technician applicants
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate patient care

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively handle and restrain patients for examinations, treatments and procedures
• Support veterinarians in delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care
• Apply knowledge of preventive care, medications and vaccines
• Obtain temperature, pulse and respiration measurements (TPRs)
• Gather relevant medical histories for patient examinations
• Obtain diagnostic samples as directed by the veterinary team
• Perform phlebotomy and other sample collection
• Assist with radiographs within training and scope of practice
• Perform in-house laboratory testing
• Communicate important patient information clearly with veterinarians and team
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized patient-care environment
• Work with the hospital team to support excellent patient outcomes
