Ethos Veterinary Health is hiring a Veterinary Assistant for its Oncology department, located in Parker, CO. This full-time role provides essential support in the treatment of animals, assisting Oncologists with various procedures.

Job Description

The Oncology Assistant supports the Oncologist and Technicians to provide safe and efficient treatments for animals receiving care. They help facilitate the treatment of animals in Oncology by assisting in procedures, chemotherapy, and consultations.

Responsibilities
  • Performs animal restraint
  • Help admit chemotherapy patients
  • Perform TPR accurately
  • Assist the Technician in chemotherapy drug administration
  • Perform blood work (procyte, chemistry, sedivue, lacuna, assist with send out)
  • Stocking
  • Cleaning/disinfecting after chemotherapy administration
  • Cleaning exam rooms after exams
  • Prepares for procedures and anticipates the needs of the department
  • Assist Technicians in CT's, radiographs, and a variety of other procedures
  • Administration of oral, IM, SQ medications and SQ fluids under the supervision of a Technician
  • Filling of prescriptions
  • Other duties as directed
  • Supports other areas and departments as needed.
Qualifications
  • At least ONE YEAR of veterinary assistant experience is REQUIRED to be considered for this role!
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience as a veterinary assistant with job responsibilities that required animal restraint and taking radiographs
  • Experience in a emergency/specialty setting
  • Knowledge of EasyVet or similar medical record systems.
