Job description

BluePearl in Midtown, NYC is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Neurology department!

Schedule: 4 ten-hour shifts during the weekday

Pay: $22.50 - $30.00 per hour

As a Neurology Veterinary Assistant, you will:

1. Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
2. Discharge patients, perform callback calls, and refill medications.
3. Educate clients, gather histories, and communicate findings to the Clinician.
4. Perform physical exams; accurately assess heart rate, pulse, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
5. Understand normal vital parameters.
6. Be comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture.
7. Set up intravenous fluids.
8. Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
9. Restrain patients during consults and diagnostics.
