Small Door is a veterinary care provider delivering compassionate, hospital-grade care in stress-free spaces. We are expanding across the East Coast through a merged network, and this role supports patients, clients, and doctors in a fast-paced practice with remote tele-triage options.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will help with emergencies, vitals, radiography, lab work, and medications while upholding AAHA standards. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities await.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Weekend availability (Saturday or Sunday).
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Strong communication with clients.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• A thoughtful and fearless team player.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge and ability to recognize medical emergencies and illnesses.
• Assessing patients.
• Recording vitals and assisting doctors with diagnostics.
• Completing treatments as instructed by the doctor.
• Basic husbandry and nursing care.
• Monitoring changes in patients and providing compassionate care.
• Assisting in and facilitating radiography capture.
• Preparing samples for outside reference labs.
• Running in-house labs.
• Preparing medications.
• Administering medications.
• Working tele-triage shifts (additional stipend).
• Additional responsibilities to maintain a hospitable environment.
