Job summary

Small Door is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our growing network of clinics. You will support doctors with exams, administer medications, prepare samples, and help maintain a calm, fear-free environment for pets.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday).
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Strong enough to lift 50 lbs.

• Skilled at communicating with clients.

Responsibilities

• Recognize medical emergencies and illnesses.
• Assessing patients.
• Record vitals and assist doctors with diagnostics.
• Complete treatments as instructed by the doctor.
• Provide basic husbandry and nursing care.
• Monitor changes in patients and provide compassionate care.
• Assist in radiography capture.
• Prepare samples for outside reference labs.
• Run in-house labs.
• Prepare medications.
• Administer medications.
• Work tele-triage shifts (additional stipend).
• Other duties to maintain a hospitable environment.

What you'll do

• Knowledge and ability to recognize medical emergencies and illnesses
