Job summary

Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center in Middletown, CT is seeking an experienced overnight Veterinary Assistant to join our VECCS Level I facility.

You will work full-time Thu/Fri/Sat nights (7pm-7am or 9pm-7am), earn $19.50-$22.00 per hour plus $3 shift differential, and have access to in-house CE, mentoring, and career growth in a collaborative hospital.

Knowledge of basic nursing care and animal handling is valued; experience with EzyVet/Smartflow is a plus.

About You

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant who is already comfortable with basic nursing care, husbandry, handling / restraint and assisting Veterinary Technicians and other staff members in a clinical setting highly preferred. Experience with EzyVet and Smartflow are an additional plus but not required. Candidates must have minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary assistant.

Compensation

$19.50-$22.00/ hour dependent upon experience / plus $3.00 an hour shift differential.

Anticipated Schedule

This is a full-time position:

• Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - either 7pm-7am or 9pm-7am

Requirements

• Prior experience working in a veterinary setting preferred.


• Experience in handling animals and performing basic animal care tasks.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.

• Basic knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology.
