Job summary

Thunderbird Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate team in Oklahoma. You will assist with restraining pets, triage patients, collect and analyze lab samples, and aid in diagnostic imaging and nursing care for hospitalized cases.

Experience is preferred, and training opportunities are offered to support growth. We provide in-house diagnostics, anesthesia support, and a commitment to high-quality pet care.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year veterinary assistant experience preferred.
Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker and strong communicator.
Must be able to properly restrain pets.
Proficient in sample collection, histories, lab tests, radiographs; anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.
Self-starter eager to advance knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

Pet restraint and triage of incoming patients.
Collection and analysis of lab samples.
Diagnostic imaging and nursing care of medical/hospitalized cases.
Administration of medications and treatment plans communication to clients.
Surgical preparation and assistance; anesthetic management.
