Veterinary Assistant in a busy specialty hospital

Join us as a Veterinary Assistant at Veterinary Neurology & Imaging of the Chesapeake, a fast-paced specialty practice located within the Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC) in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Position Overview

We are seeking full-time Technician Assistants interested in neurology. This role offers growth opportunities into a technician position. Hours are Monday - Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays. The position supports our advanced diagnostic imaging services (MRI and CT), hyperbaric oxygen chamber, and surgical caseload for three full-time neurologists.

Major Duties
  • ICU: Care of hospitalized patients including cage cleaning, walking, feeding, and observation.
  • Surgery: Assist with cleaning, setting up, breaking down the operating room, and sterilizing instruments.
  • Patients: Restrain animals for procedures, administer oral medications, assess changes in animal health, and understand neuro conditions.
  • Public Relations: Maintain a professional, cheerful, and helpful attitude when interacting with pet owners and team members.
  • Laboratory: Perform lab tests, prepare CSF, and complete lab forms.
  • Assisting: Animal restraint, prescription filling, and computer data entry.
  • Appointments: Manage appointments with our Vet Neurologist.
