Berclair Animal Hospital in Memphis, TN is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians, technicians, patients, and clients throughout the day. You will assist with exams, imaging, lab work, and patient care, while providing a welcoming hospital environment and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of veterinary assistant experience.
• Weekend and holiday availability.
• Strong animal handling and restraint skills.
• Experience with sample collection, medical histories, laboratory testing, and radiographs.
• Willingness to learn and grow.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Anesthesia monitoring experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely restrain patients for exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Triages incoming patients and prioritizes care.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging, including digital radiographs.
• Provide nursing care and monitor hospitalized patients.
• Administer medications as directed by the team.
• Obtain medical histories and communicate plans to clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with procedures.
• Support anesthesia monitoring and recovery.
• Maintain a clean, safe, welcoming hospital environment.
