Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island (VMCLI) in West Islip, NY seeks Veterinary Assistants to support veterinarians and technicians. Responsibilities include restraining animals, preparing surgery areas, feeding, grooming, and handling clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• Experience in veterinary setting is required
• Ability to interact with the public

• Own transportation if needed

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals for veterinarians and technicians
• Feed animals as instructed
• Clean animals and areas, maintain odor-free environment
• Assist with medications as allowed by law
• Groom animals as needed
• Record keeping for routine care, vitals, and observations
• Exercise and bathroom breaks for animals
• General duties: restocking, cleaning, paperwork, phones
• Greet clients and help with patient history and transport to vehicles
