Job summary

Heartland Pet Hospital in Bellevue, Nebraska, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support our family-focused general practice, performing medical and preventative care with compassion for pets and their people.

You will assist with restraint, lab work, imaging, nursing care, medications, and client communication, with opportunities for growth into full-time roles through ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year experience in veterinary assistant duties.
• Willing to learn and grow within our clinic and keep a positive attitude.
• Communication and teamwork are essential here.

Responsibilities

• Restrain pets and triage incoming patients.
• Collect and analyze lab samples and perform basic diagnostic imaging.
• Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases and assist with surgeries.
• Administer medications and clearly communicate treatment plans with clients.
• Assist with anesthetic management and perioperative care.
