Village Veterinary Medical Center in Farragut, TN is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in patient care, diagnostics, and clinical tasks. This full-time role involves four 10-hour shifts, on-site, with opportunities to contribute to both clinical and administrative workflows and to deliver compassionate care to pets and clear guidance to clients.

You'll complete or pursue veterinary assistant certification, work in a fast-paced team, and grow through hands-on

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Preferred: Prior veterinary experience or training in a veterinary setting

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and diagnostics
• Restrain, handle, and lift animals
• Obtain comprehensive patient histories and maintain medical records
• Perform routine in-house lab work and radiographs
• Prepare, calculate, and administer medications and vaccines
• Support surgeries and procedures and prepare patients
• Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing care
• Communicate with clients regarding patient care and discharge instructions
• Maintain cleanliness, sterilization, and organization of hospital areas
• Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining inventory
• Support reception, kennel, and treatment areas as needed
• Help maintain efficient patient flow and collaborate with the medical team
