Job summary

Allianceanimalhealth is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our veterinary team and deliver high-quality care to patients while supporting clients. You will professionally handle and restrain pets, assist with exams, diagnostics, radiographs, and surgical prep, and communicate treatment plans with owners.

Prior veterinary experience is preferred (1+ year), but we welcome eager learners. We offer a full-time position with benefits and a pay range of $18-$21/hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 1+ year veterinary experience preferred
• Willing to learn and grow in a fast-paced team
• Compassionate, calm under pressure and collaborative
• Strong communication and multitasking skills
• Comfort handling pets of all sizes and temperaments

Responsibilities

• Handle and restrain pets during exams and procedures
• Triaging incoming patients and assist with patient flow
• Collect lab samples and assist with tests
• Take radiographs and assist with imaging
• Provide nursing care for medical/hospitalized patients
• Administer medications as directed
• Assist with surgical prep, support, and anesthetic monitoring
• Communicate treatment plans with clients
