Job summary

Southgate Veterinary Clinic in Bellefontaine, OH is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a busy, compassionate team. You’ll assist with restraint, triage, lab work, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring, while delivering clear treatment plans to clients.

Must be able to withstand odors and noises; a minimum of 1 year of veterinary assistant experience is preferred. We value self-starters who want to grow their skills and contribute to a positive patient and client

Qualifications

An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1 year experience preferred.
Must be able to restrain pets properly.
Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing lab tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus.
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises.

Responsibilities

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases.
Administration of medications and effective communication of treatment plans with clients.
Surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
