Job summary

Four Paws Veterinary Hospital in Southport, NC is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our two-doctor practice. We offer a living wage, revenue sharing, and ongoing opportunities to enhance technical skills within a supportive team.

As part of our team, you will assist veterinarians with anesthesia, blood draws, in-house testing, imaging, and daily patient care while maintaining client education and high standards of medicine.

Qualifications

• Must be able to multi-task and think quickly on your feet.
• Must develop positive working relationships with clients and co-workers.
• Able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Check patient medical records for history and enter treatments and charges.
• Restrain animals for Veterinarian as required.
• Perform lab work such as CBCs, urinalysis, and fungus cultures as directed.
• Assist Veterinarian with in-patient care and IV fluid management.
• Take medical histories and vital signs of patients.
• Communicate medication instructions and potential complications to owners.
