Job summary

Small Door seeks a veterinary assistant to join our compassionate team. You will assist doctors, record vitals, prepare medications, and help with in-house labs and radiography. This role supports a collaborative, fast-paced hospital environment with a strong focus on Fear Free care.

Qualified candidates have at least 2 years of veterinary assisting experience, comfort with computers, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Weekend availability is required.

• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Recognize medical emergencies and assist with patient assessment.
• Record vitals and assist doctors with diagnostics and treatments.
• Prepare medications and assist in radiography capture and lab work.
• Provide compassionate nursing care and maintain a hospitable environment.
• Support tele-triage shifts as needed.
• Maintain high standards of Fear Free and AAHA accreditation.
