Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital in Maple Grove, MN is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital team. You will support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring safe, high-quality care for pets and clients in a progressive practice.

You’ll use NAVTA-compliant skills, assist in daily workflows, educate clients on preventive care and wellness plans, and contribute to a collaborative hospital environment that prioritizes pet health and client service.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program certificate or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform NAVTA-level veterinary assistant skills and duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and vet techs to maintain the flow of patients.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Educate clients about preventive care and Optimum Wellness Plans.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of hospital areas (exams, labs).
