Job summary

Gentle Care Pet Clinic in Long Beach, CA seeks a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate has prior Veterinary Assistant experience and Saturday availability.

Join a dedicated team focused on compassionate care for dogs and cats, including wellness, dentistry, diagnostics, and surgery support. You will assist with patient handling, exam room prep, vitals, lab work, radiographs, and post-procedure care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the veterinary team with patient restraint, handling, and treatment.
• Prepare exam rooms and patients for appointments.
• Obtain and record patient weights and basic vital signs.
• Assist with collecting and preparing laboratory samples.
• Prepare and maintain surgical and treatment areas.
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures as directed.
• Monitor and care for patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels, treatment areas, and equipment.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed and within applicable scope of practice.
• Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
• Stock and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
• Communicate patient updates and concerns to the veterinary team.

The small-animal practice provides personalized, compassionate care for dogs and cats, offering services including wellness and preventive care, dentistry, diagnostics and imaging, surgery, and pharmacy support. We are actively searching for a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience as a Veterinary Assistant and Saturday availability.

Compensation $20-$24/hr, depending on experience
