Job summary

Payson Family Pet Hospital in Payson, UT is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support client and patient care across exams, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures.

We offer a full-time or part-time position with a flexible schedule including weekday and evening shifts. Compensation ranges from $16 to $21 per hour, with additional after-hours pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a veterinary assistant or related role
• Safe animal handling and restraint for dogs, cats and exotics
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and patient care principles
• Assist with exams, treatments, blood draws and outpatient procedures
• Surgical setup and assisting
• Experience in radiographs and positioning
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Compassionate, professional client communication

Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
