Companion Pet Hospital in Philadelphia seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support exams, surgeries, dentistry, and outpatient care. This full-time role offers diverse clinical duties in a values-driven practice renowned as the city's Fear Free Certified Practice and the only clinic to hold the AAFP Cat Friendly designation.

You will assist veterinarians, monitor anesthesia, prepare rooms, maintain records, and educate clients, while contributing to a high standard of patient care.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant or related role.
• Proficiency in radiology positioning, dental support, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Experience documenting medical records and communicating with clients.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgeries, and dentistry.
• Handle patients safely and with low stress during care.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia and support patient recovery as directed.
• Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiography.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Review plans and discharge instructions with clients clearly.
• Educate clients and build positive relationships.
• Keep exam rooms and spaces clean, organized, and prepared.
