Auburn University seeks a Veterinary Assistant for the College of Veterinary Medicine. The role involves assisting with animal care, instructing students, and maintaining medical records. The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking candidates for a Veterinary Assistant to work in the Farm Animal services to perform a variety of tasks related to the care and treatments of animal patients (out-patient, in-patient, and ambulatory).
This position is Mon – Fri from 7:30 am until 6:00 pm. Flexibility is required as call-backs and/or weekends may be needed occasionally.

Depending upon the combination of education and experience, the qualified candidate will be selected as Veterinary Assistant and assigned Levels I, II or III .
Level I: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Level II: Requires a high school diploma plus 2 years of professional experience in the care and comfort of animals.
Level III : Requires a high school diploma plus 4 years of professional experience in the care and comfort of animals. Experience must include at least 2 years at the preceding level or equivalent.
Substitutions allowed for Education:
Indicated education is required; no substitutions allowed.
Substitutions allowed for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
