BluePearl Pet Hospital in Malvern, PA is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Overnight Veterinary Assistant to join their fast-paced emergency department.

Pay:

$19.30 - $28.70 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through the CareerTrax leveling system.

We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends. For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

Responsibilities:

• Triaging emergency cases as they arrive and assisting DVM with crafting and reviewing estimates as needed.
• Performing diagnostics (radiographs, lab work, etc.), setting patients up in ICU or inpatient ward, discharging patients, and handling client communication.

As an Overnight Emergency Veterinary Assistant, you will:

• Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards and core values.
• Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds.
• Understand medication classifications, side effects, and monitor therapeutic responses.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
• Perform phlebotomy and physical exams, including vital signs.
• Assist with anesthesia and monitoring for ASA I or II classified patients.
• Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrate proficiency as assigned.
