Position Overview

We’re hiring a Veterinary Assistant for our growing animal hospital.

Salary: $17 - $21.50 / hour

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the veterinarian with medical procedures under supervision
• Communicate with clients about their pets’ care, answer questions, educate on treatments, and obtain consent
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and their pets
• Manage medical records using practice management software
• Perform tasks such as dispensing medication, taking x-rays, blood draws, catheter placement, sample collection, treatments, diagnostic testing, administering vaccines, and animal restraint
• Maintain and clean medical equipment and hospital areas

Qualifications for Success

• Comfortable interacting with animals of various types with calmness and compassion
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
• Certified veterinary technician (preferred)
• Associate degree in veterinary assisting (preferred)
