Job summary

Twin Peaks Veterinary Center in Tucson, AZ is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant for our AAHA-accredited, four-doctor practice. You will use technical and client service skills to deliver high-quality patient care and support. Evening and weekend hours are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program preferred.
• Three years of experience in a pet care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, medical equipment and surgery areas between appointments.
• Obtain initial patient information, medical histories and vaccination records; update records.
• Calm, restrain and comfort pets before, during and after procedures.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and post-surgery status; document findings.
• Educate pet owners on care, medications, and aftercare as directed by veterinarians.
• Assist with medications, routine lab tests, and dispensing under supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment; ensure high productivity and quality care.
