Companion Animal Medical Center in Rotterdam, NY is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support Veterinarians and Technicians. You will help care for our patients, maintain a clean, organized facility, and assist with examinations, procedures and patient communication.

The role requires compassion, reliability and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You’ll handle routine tasks like feeding, grooming and boarding, and contribute to a calm, comforting environment for pets and their owners.

Qualifications

• Team-oriented; proven experience working with animals.
• Proficient with computers.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
• Experience as Veterinary Assistant or similar position.

Responsibilities

• Feed, groom and weigh animals.
• Bathe animals.
• Sterilize equipment and clean examination rooms.
• Assist in surgery and with procedures (x-rays/ultrasound).
• Obtain patient history from clients and monitor changes.
• Enter charges into computer system and assist with admissions and appointments.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all hospital areas.
• Care for boarders and inpatient animals.
• Assist with end of life services.
