Job summary

VetEvolve is seeking a Veterinary Assistant at its Bay Beach Veterinary Emergency Hospital to support veterinarians during exams and treatments, while serving as the main link between clinicians and clients. You’ll help ensure compassionate care and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, restraining animals, administering meds, educating clients, and handling payments at checkout. A strong team player with reliable schedule is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to use practice management software and Microsoft Office.
• Previous experience with animals preferred; veterinary/animal care valued.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle animals up to 130 pounds.
• Maintain professional appearance and composure in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Provides compassionate care to patients and clients.
• Communicates clearly with clients, doctors, and team members.
• Assists veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Restrains animals using low-stress handling techniques.
• Administers medications, draws vaccines, collects lab samples, and runs basic tests.
• Maintains medical records and treatment plans in the system.
• Educates clients on vaccinations, medications, and care plans.
• Checks out clients and processes payments as needed.
• Maintains clean and stocked exam rooms and hospital areas.
